Officially Fall

It's officially fall: this is from an illustration about the foods of fall, including beans. I think it's pretty.

More Troop Homecoming

My pic is a little older, but I like it. It's from a troop homecoming in D-town, and I love this frame. The day after this was the couple's one year anniversary. I wish it had run, but they weren't from our coverage area, yet again.

Church

This is a shot I like, though I'm not totally sure why, from a shoot I did at a church in North Flint on Sunday. I was a really beautiful, moving three hour long service, during which Marquise Gray showed up. I think I'm way more psyched about that than anybody else.

More Homecoming

So I took Nick's advice and tried to shoot this homecoming parade as more moment based. Sadly, this one was from my hometown, which means the parade was only about 15 min. long. With about an hour less of available time, this is what I came away with.

Just Because

I usually don't care much for sports shooting. It's not that I don't like some of the photos, but it's not really what I want to do. So here's one I like just because.

And More Feature

Ah the joys of feature hunting. This is one I snagged in Grand Blanc. It's a group of neighborhood kids who have built themselves a play house from scratch, all on their own and in a very communist, equality for all way. It was fun to watch the children use mini-power tools.

The Sure Thing

Maybe rather than trying to play with light and composition so much I should just focus on getting better moments. This one is from a story about a little girl who is collecting money for the Ronald McDonald House because that's where her friend (the boy pictured here) and his mom stayed when he had numerous surgeries.

Taking Chances

This was a stand alone feature assignment for the weeklies: A mother-son dance in Grand Blanc. I feel like I've been shooting nearly everything the same way, so I decided that, rather than getting hung up on perfecting my bread and butter, I was going to use available light and make something pretty. Oh man, did I fail. But at least I tried right? Anyway, here's what I sort of like (the best I can say I feel about any of them.)
